Diary entry 4
Today in media we started our proposal, this is where we talk about what type of a music magazine we will make, I said that my magazine will be based around magazines like NME and Q. I talked about the business feature and said that my magazine will cost £3.00 as it will be issues monthly. I also talked about media synergy and how I will make a website and an app for my magazine. I also talked about content and how my magazine will include the typical codes and conventions of a inie/rock magazine.

Diary Entry 3
Today in media we started to create a key concepts presentation on Prezi. This helped my understanding of music magazines and what i should do to interest my target audience. I had to talk about the codes and conventions of a music magazine which are a larget masthead, big image and interetsing sell lines around the image. I learnt that each genre will have a specific look which will appeal to the reader. I also learnt the the reader reads the magazine because they have a personal idenetity or relationship with different artitist. I also learnt how different artists are portrayed differently on magazines. i also had to talk about institution and who owns the magazine and how magazine will make money.

Diary entry 1
Today i started to draft my ideas for the haydon school magazine. The masthead for my magazine is called ' The Blaze'. The magazine is aimed at year 7;s new to the school as they are more likely to show interest in the maagzine. The colours will be yellow and blue which are colours that will attract a younger audience, as yellow will connote brightness and happiness which will get female readers and the dark blue will attract male readers as it is quite a masucline colour. The front cover will feature both male and female models so that female and males will want to read the magazine.

The magazine I have created is called ' The Blaze'. This has been made for Haydon school magazine. The target audience that i have aimed for are mainly year 7's both male and female. I have aimed for my target audience to be year 7's as I think that they would be more interested in the magazine and will be able to make much more use out of it than the other years, this is because they are new to the school and they will want to learn more about it and they can do this by buying the magazine. However, I also think that even though this is for males too, I think that females will want to read this magazine more due to the fact that they are more interested in doing well in their education than boys. However, I have tried to use a colour scheme which will attract males and females. The colour scheme that I have used is yellow and blue, the blue will help get the male target audience, and the yellow is a uni sex colour so it will appeal to both the target audience. For my front cover I have put a large image of a female model, this will attract the female audience. I have used a mid-shot picture and my model is smiling, this makes the audience want to read my magazine as it looks friendly and welcoming. I have included a plug which says ' win a free pencil case' this will attract my audience as they might need a new pencil case and they might want a new one. I have also included sell lines which say '10 tips on how to get by at Haydon' this will intrigue my target audience as year 7's have started a new big school and they might find it scary, my magazine will give them advice on how to get by so that they become confident, and they don't stress out about school. The contents page has the same colour scheme as the front cover and the same text, i added a picture of a boy and a girl model to attract both males and females, i also added the Haydon stag. The contents page is simple and easy to find out what pages you want as the page number is right next to the text. I have added pages like 'back to school tips' this will interest my reader and also help them figure out what they should do. I have added a picture of the Haydon stag to reinforce that it is a school maagzine.
